Successful Benefit for Healthy Heart Club
Saturday, January 22 was a big night at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky as special guest Brian Littrell of the Backstreet Boys came to sing the national anthem before the Thoroughblades hockey game. The Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation invited a select group of supporters to a private reception to meet and greet Brian before the game. The 50 persons who attended the reception had their pictures taken with Brian and received an autographed photo and a Healthy Heart Club t-shirt. Brian was his usual charming and easygoing self, and all those who came went away feeling very special and that they had made an important contribution to his Club. Some of those who came traveled long distances. Two ladies came from foreign countries (Japan and Canada) and others came from Massachusetts, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas and South Carolina as well as Kentucky. Between the admission to the special reception and a portion of the hockey game ticket revenue, the Healthy Heart Club for Kids raised about $15,000. The Hospital Foundation is grateful to Brian Littrell and his family for again showing their deep support of this cause.
